CRITICAL RAW MATERIALS AND RARE EARTHS
Potential occurrences of lithium, possible rare earths and other strategically relevant raw materials.
THE HORN OF AFRICA GATEWAY PILOT PROJECT
HAGAL / XAGAL – SAHIL, SOMALILAND
The Horn of Africa Gateway Pilot Project is the first building block of a long-term platform for developing natural, critical and strategic resources in the Horn of Africa. The project is designed to demonstrate how regional access, European science, international technology and long-term investment can be combined within one transparent structure.
01 · REGIONAL SCREENING
In an initial nationwide screening phase, approximately 40% of Somaliland's land area was examined using scientific geological, satellite-based and remote-sensing analyses.
In parallel, key available national and international geological and historical exploration information dating back to the 1950s was collected and evaluated.
The historical information was then compared with our new satellite and remote-sensing analyses. The principal geological structures, anomalies and target regions showed a strong degree of alignment.

02 · SELECTION OF THE PILOT REGION
Based on the nationwide analysis, the Hagal / Xagal region was selected as the first contiguous pilot area.
Project-related use and development rights for a region of approximately 2,000 km² were secured for RedSoil Resources and future project partners.
Further satellite and remote-sensing studies were conducted within this region to define resource potential and priority development areas more precisely.
03 · STRATEGIC POTENTIAL AREAS
Potential occurrences of lithium, possible rare earths and other strategically relevant raw materials.
Gold, silver and other precious metals of international economic importance.
Copper and other metallic or industrial resources.
Resources for cement production, construction, infrastructure and regional processing.
Areas with potential for agriculture, land development and complementary regional value creation.
Potential energy resources, including oil and gas, that may be investigated in separate projects.
These categories describe strategic areas of potential. They do not yet constitute an independently confirmed resource or reserve definition.
04 · FIRST PILOT PROJECT
Gold was selected as the priority focus for the first development phase. Gold has a transparent international market, established exploration methods and a clear phased development pathway.
Six areas with particular gold potential were prioritised within the project region.
The initial objective is to validate the gold project technically and economically. Successful development can then provide a foundation for financing and investigating additional resource areas.

Geological and satellite-based analysis of approximately 40% of the country's land area.
Consolidation of key available geological and international exploration information dating back to the 1950s.
Comparison of historical information with new satellite, GIS and remote-sensing studies.
Identification of the Hagal / Xagal region as the first strategic development region.
Securing project-related use and development rights for approximately 2,000 km².
Additional studies and selection of six areas with particular gold potential.
THE NEXT STEP
The next step is to work with an internationally recognised exploration, geology or engineering company. Together, the existing foundations are to be converted into a professional, investment-ready exploration programme in accordance with international standards. The next phase includes in particular:
OUR PARTNER STRATEGY
As an internationally oriented company, we aim to represent the Horn of Africa professionally and responsibly to the world. As we operate and maintain networks across several countries in the region, we regard the highest standards of quality, transparency and reliability as our obligation. We therefore select partners according to clear criteria:
For research, scientific support, education and knowledge transfer.
For independent data review, geological methodology and joint research programmes.
For exploration, project planning, environmental and social studies and feasibility analyses.
For fieldwork, sampling, laboratory services, geophysics, drilling, technology and potential processing.
For phased financing of clearly defined technical and scientific project stages.
For long-term project development, processing, offtake and access to international markets.
The following documents may be made available progressively to qualified partners after a confidentiality agreement has been signed:
We are seeking qualified scientific, technical, financial and strategic partners for the independent validation and phased development of the pilot project.
